Between theory and practice
Methods in contemporary lexicography

The situation of modern lexicography, more and more oriented toward electronic devices, requires a reconsideration of the basis of lexicographic theory and practice. It is worth asking which of the former lexicographic principles are still valid, and how a modern dictionary can meet the growing need for information being available immediately, everywhere, and tailored to specific needs. Papers addressing the following (and other relevant) topics are invited:

Foundations and aims of modern lexicography · The role of a dictionary in times of information explosion · New methods of solving old problems · IT tools for lexicographers · Lexicography 2.0: sources, tools, people · Multimedia dictionaries: what kinds and what for? · Old lexis in modern dictionaries · How to use dictionaries in school education? · Hybridisation of dictionaries and crossing the boundaries in lexicography.
